THE JOE GENTILE MORNING SHOW

Dan appeared as a guest on the Joe Gentile morning radio show on Monday January 2nd, 2006. Dan met Joe at a meeting of Amici D’Italia in November and was curious about what part of Italy Joe’s family came from. Joe told him that his father was from San Fili in Cosenza and his mother was descended from people from Lucca in Toscana but wasn’t sure of the town. Joe never mentioned who his parents were and Dan forgot to ask. Long-story-short….4 days of research produced a 4 generation pedigree chart and found that Joe is also partly from Termini Imerese in Sicily. Dan sent the chart to Joe in a Christmas card and this resulted in Dan calling the show on December 23rd, which in turn resulted in the guest appearance on the entire show on January 2nd.
For those of you who have not heard of Joe Gentile (both of you) Joe was a legendary auto dealer for 40+ years who finally sold the business a few years ago. He is a reknowned philanthopist who gives generously to many causes but especially his alma mater Loyola University. He built their gymnasium, known as the Joseph J. Gentile Center! Joe bought a radio station a few years ago to promote his auto dealership and is now hooked on broadcasting!
For those of you who have never heard Joe Gentile’s morning show….you gotta listen! The show is on weekday mornings from around 7:30am until 9am in 1530 AM WJJG (Joseph J. Gentile) and it’s a lively talk show – Joe has strong opinions on a wide variety of topics and is not afraid to express them!
