Gaia is on the hill above Giffoni Valle Piana. It is a part of Giffoni. The house in mustard was my Great Grandfather's home and the white building next to it is a small chapel - Madonna del Carmine. Above the house, you can see Olive groves and Chestnut groves - these different plots belong to families in Giffoni, including the D'Angelo family. At the end of this street is a beautiful monastery, Convento Dei Padre Cappuccini, which I believe was initially constructed in 1578.

Giffoni Valle Piana is now home to the Children's Film Festival.

My Grandmother, Carmela Marrandino, was born in Vassi and my Grandfather, Salvatore D'Angelo in Gaia near the Cuppuncin Monastery.
