Allotments -- Under Construction

Of the over 200,000 acres originally assigned to the Iowa Tribe in southeastern Logan Co., southeastern Payne Co., and northeastern Lincoln Co., less than 10,000 acres were allotted under the authority of an Act of Congress approved February 13, 1891.

Individual allotments (each of approximately 80 acres) are listed on the appropriate Township page.  Most have maps that help pinpoint locations by showing the individual allotments in yellow with the lands subsequently opened to homesteading shown in white.  Others still show the lands originally assigned to the Iowa Tribe in yellow so that you have to locate the described parcel on the map -- but these will gradually be replaced with the more detailed type of map.
