FAMILY HISTORY

I am in the process of taking all the notes I had in the textual portion of my database about the family lines of my direct ancestor's siblings and entering them in as actual entries in my database. As I complete sections, I'll be updating the surname index and family trees pointed to by this page. Please let me know of any errors that you find.

Online Databases to Search

There is some overlap in these databases, but they each have their own unique roots.

To search any of the databases:
1. Click on the link for it. This will bring up the Surname Index.
2. Click on the first letter of the surname you are searching. This will take you down to the list of surnames that begin with that letter.
3. Click on the surname you are interested. This will take you to the first person in the database with that surname.
4. Look through the individual list to find the person you are interested in.
5. Click on the person's name to find out more about them.

My personal Admire database can be searched via the ADMIRE Family Surname Index. It contains over 3700 individuals, mostly from Southwest Missouri, but with roots in Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, England, Ireland, and Germany. It has been privatized to protect the living.

The database of an Irish immigrant family of the late 1800's is contained in the McGETTIGAN Family Surname Index. It has been privatized to protect the living.

The database of my friend and cousin, "Pete" Peterson contains over 2200 individuals. It has been privatized to protect the living.

The all encompassing ADMIRE database over 8000 individuals that are descendants or married descendants of George ADMIRE, Sr. (about 1730-1804). It has been privatized to protect the living.

Links and Other Things to Check Out

I have recently been doing a lot of research on Burtonwood Air Depot In England where my father spent some time during World War 2. Here is a page of pictures from that time. Also, I have a page of pictures from Tempelhof Air Drome in Berlin where my father was stationed for a while after the war with the 301st Troop Carrier Squadron.
