Southern Clarendon and Southern St Andrew Parish Maps, with Kingston, 1927, Jamaica, West Indies

The map was used by my grand-father and father as they travelled around Jamaica for work. The original was published in 1888 and updated in 1905 and again in 1926 and came out in 1927. It has quite good detail of properties and estates in the parish. You will notice that, at the edges, the zoomed map is a little less clear. This is because when photographing the map, it was not possible to flatten it completely.

This map is Zoomable. Click on the map where you want to enlarge. Use the cursor hand to move up and down. There are more controls at the bottom of the page. If the picture does not clear on Zooming, you may need to "Refresh " the page in your browser.

Note: As of April 2010 the Zoomify feature on this page does not work in Internet Explorer (IE), 8.0 64-bit, but it works in Foxfire, Opera, Chrome, Safari and IE 8.0, 32 bit browsers. This is because Adobe does not yet support the 64 bit platform for Flash/Shockwave Player, only the 32 bit operating system. If you are running Windows 7, 64 bit with Internet Explorer 8.0 check when you are in IE the Help:About Internet Explorer to see if it is set on 64 bit.(It could be set to the 32 bit). If you want to get 32 bit Internet Explorer 8.0, this is how I learned to do it. In the Start menu box, type "iexplore.exe 32 " (no quotes, space intended), right click on the Explorer icon, and select Send to: then Desktop short cut. You will get an Icon on your desktop which is for the 32 bit Internet Explorer, as well as the 64 bit Internet Explorer Icon you already had. Then you can open the new IE, put in the URL and zoom this map in the 32 bit Internet Explorer.
