concerning anything to do with the Oregon Trail. The history of the trail is an appropriate topic for discussion as well as postings of

the Oregon, California, Sante Fe, and other historic trails in the Western USA. This list is sponsored by the Oregon-California Trails
Association (OCTA) which is dedicated to the preservation, education and appreciation of the 19th Century emigrant trails. OCTA
has conducted a comprehensive survey of emigrant documents (e.g., letters, diaries, journals) and compiled the names found in
these documents in a database that can be searched for individual names (by SOUNDEX). Searches can not be done on-line and
