C.R. "Charlie" Gant

Charlie Gant, 89, died September 29, 1994, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 31, 1905, in Barber County, the son of Joseph Gant and Hattie Orilla (King) Gant. A lifetime Barber County resident, he was a rancher.

He was a charter member of the Kansas Cutting Horse Association, and the United Methodist Church at Medicine Lodge.

On September 3, 1930, he married Mildred Suhler at Nashville, Kansas. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include: a son, Gaylord, Medicine Lodge; a daughter, Charlene Larson, Medicine Lodge; a sister, Florence Pratt, Herington; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge with the Rev. Joe Cobb and Steve Bryan presiding.

Memorials may be sent to Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo or to the church, both in care of Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
