Isabel Soldier Is Killed

Pfc. Clyde Hakanson, reported missing in action less than a week ago, has been killed in action, a message from the War department last week informed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hakanson of near Isabel.

The message received last Tuesday, stated that Pfc. Hakanson had been killed on August 3.

His death makes the second in the family, his half-brother, Lt. Vernon Dye having met death in an airplane accident in 1942. Another brother, Carlton Hakanson, is now serving overseas.

Another Barber county casualty is Pvt. Irvin Hamilton of Sun City who was wounded slightly while fighting in France August 12, according to a message received by his wife, the former Euva Huse, who now lives in Wichita. Pvt. Hamilton lived in Sun City for two years prior to entering the army. He formerly lived in Kinsley.

Mrs. Hamilton is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Huse of Sun City.
