Barber County Index, November 9, 1944.

Pfc. Saddler Is Killed In France

Another gold star was added to the names of the Barber county men in service when it was announced here Tuesday that Mrs. Ettie Saddler had received word of the death of her son Pfc. Andrew Claude Saddler. He was killed in action in France on July 30.

Pfc. Saddler had previously been listed as missing in action. Mrs. Saddler receiving this word in August. Just one day later she got a telegram stating that another son, Cpl. Harry Saddler, had been wounded in France.

Pfc. Saddler was 31 years old. He had been in the service since February, 1942.
