Medicine Lodge Cresset, August 10, 1882.

DIED

At her residence in Medicine Lodge, on Sabbath afternoon, Aug. 6th, 1882, Mrs. Martha Updegraff, wife of Derrich Updegraff, in the 52nd year of her age.

No woman of our community has ever been known more widely or kindly than Mrs. Updegraff. In all the time we have known her we have never heard one harsh work spoken in regard to her but many in her praise.

On Tuesday, her remains were borne to the cemetery, followed by a very large procession of sorrowing, sympathizing friends.

So, slowly but surely grows the little city of our dead; and as the shuttle of time flies back and forth on the loom of fate, it weaves the threads which bind us closer to our western home.
