Barber County Index, June 29, 1944.

Sun City Soldier Dies In Italy

Another name was added to the rapidly mounting list of Barber county war casualties last week when Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams of Sun City received the sad news from the war department that their son, Pvt. Raoul Lee Williams had been killed in action in Italy on June 2, 1944.

Pvt. Williams was 19 years old, having been born April 2 at Southard, Oklahoma.

The youth was serving is the 45th division of General Clark's 5th Army. He was inducted into the army September 27, 1943 and finished his basic training January 22, 1944, at Camp Blanding, Fla.

Pvt. Williams attended the Sun City schools.
