Virgil Lee Woodbury

Virgil Lee Woodbury died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.

Mr. Woodbury was born June 27, 1929 at Avard, OK the son of the late Silas and Ella Jane (Milledge) Woodbury. A resident of Medicine Lodge for 53 years coming from Oklahoma, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 5 years, was a Warehouse Superindent for Gold Bond Building Products for 37 years, and hauled hay for many farmers. After retiring he did yard work for many people. He was a US Army Veteran serving from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. On Oct. 9, 1950 he married Laura Back at Fairview, Ok, she survives.

Other survivors include a son Harlon Woodbury and wife Silver, Oklahoma City; a daughter Shirley Woodbury, Pratt; and two grandchildren, Lauren Renee Woodbury and Scott Alan Woodbury. He was preceded in death by a brother Lee Roy Woodbury and a half-brother Charlie Milledge.

Graveside Service was Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at Isabel Cemetery, Isabel, Kansas, with Pastor Jay Squires officiating. Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association or American Cancer in care of the funeral home.
