Coming in from the southeast Nance Cemetery Lincoln Township, Crawford County, Kansas near Cato,Ks This cemetery is in very poor condition. Not all stones are readable or exist anymore Newest burial was in 1959

As you can see this cemetery is very isolated

Thought to be graves of HALE family.4 stones.one M.H. records show that Melvin Hale age 1 b.Ill died Oct.1859 which would match the date on stone

There are 4 graves in a stone fence headstones are make of sandstone. Local historial says that this was the graves of 4 pioneers (mother and 3 children) who died of fever while on a wagon train and that the father buried them and made a stone fence around the graves to keep bufalo from walking on it. There are several sunken spots that are probably unmarked graves. These may well be the Hale family date on stone matches date of Melvin Hale's death
