Ralph E. Tomlinson

A lifetime resident of the Chanute area, Ralph Tomlinson 58, 1521 South Ashby died Thursday at 10 p.m. at Neosho Memorial Hospital. Until ill health forced retirement, he had been employed at Burhghart Lumber Company. He had farmed in Wilson and Neosho counties until 1948 when he moved to Chanute. He was employed as a driller in the oil fields in this area for about 20 years.

He had been a member of the Humboldt Methodist Church. He was born May 8, 1914, Southeast of Humboldt in Allen County, and attended Allen County schools. He and Mavis Dozier were married Oct. 27, 1934, in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Survivors include the widow of the home: a son Richard W., of Wichita; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Ann) Myers, R 1, Mrs. Dean (Carol) Bright, 1520 Edith, and Mrs. Gary (Lois) Lindquist, Leadville, Colo.; five grand children; a brother, Johnie Tomlinson, Parsons; and five sisters, Mrs. Floyd Strack, R 3, Mrs. E. P. Palmer, Parsons, Mrs. Millard Cress, Humboldt, Mrs. Jim Murrow, Iola, and Mrs. Catherine Oliphant, Stillwater Oklahoma. He was preceeded in death by a sister and a grandchild.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gibson-Koch Chapel with the Rev. Edgar Raines officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
