Frederick William Niemoller was born near Huntingburg, Indiana, on March 1, 1863. He came to the state of Kansas with his parents in December of 1880, who settled on the old home farm, six miles south of Wakefield in Clay county. Soon after coming to Kansas he joined the Zoar German Methodist Episcopal church and was a regulated attendant of that church until he lost his health about six years ago. About three years ago he was taken to the sanitorium at Parsons, Kansas, where he remained until his death, which occurred on the 16th of February, 1914. Of the immediate family there is one brother and three sisters: J. Frederich Niemoller and Mrs. Henry Adam of Wakefield, Mrs. F. W. Arensman of Bushton, Kansas and Mrs. G. Eberhard of Dale, Indiana. The remains were brought to Wakefield and he was buried in the Wakefield Cemetery. (Feb. 26, 1914)

Mortuary:
Emma Nixon, after a long and severe spell of sickness died April 13, 1891. Mrs. Nixon came from England to America in the year of 1871* with her father, John Bengree, and settled on a homestead in Exeter Twp. on December 9, 1871. She was united in marriage to T. R. (sic) Nixon. Mr. Nixon was called home about four years ago. Mrs. Nixon leaves five children and a father and a host of friends to mourn her loss. The bereaved friends have the sympathy of the community at large. Below are few words we have from the friends:
"Farewell, dear mother, farewell;Sweet be thy sleep till Christ shall come and wake the slumb'ring dead, Farewell!"
*I found a paper for John Bengree saying he had filed his "Declaration of Intention" (first papers to become a citizen) on Nov. 7, 1870, and was granted citizenship on November 13, 1876.
