This guitar strap was made for me by Elsmarie Heimpel in 1974 when I'd just gone through USN recruit training and bought this Guild D25 guitar for myself as a reward. No other strap has ever touched my favorite guitar. Thank you again, Elsmarie!

I've played guitar since I was 12 years old. It was a thrill for me to be the featured guest perfomer at the Wilmore Opry on November 5, 2004. One of the songs I played is of my own composition: "Darling, I'll Clean Out the Cat Box (To Prove That My Love Is True)". I also recited a poem I wrote in honor of Grandma Nellie Ferrin:
Walking In The Heartland.

I was a U.S. Naval Reserve Photographer, 1974-1980. For information about the men and women with whom I served on active duty, see: U.S. Navy Photographers at the National Parachute Test Range, circa 1975.

One of the most interesting jobs I've had was working in an underground mine from November 1978 to 2 August 1982. For a collection of my stories about the mine, see: Notes about the Magma Copper Company Underground Mine at San Manuel, Arizona.

Cover Artwork for Ferrin Family Newsletter #10 I published The Ferrin Family Newsletter for 11 years, a newsletter devoted to researching and publishing information on the life & times of Captain Jonathan Farren of Amesbury, MA & Newton, NH, (circa 1697 - 5 May 1770). He was the American progenitor of many of the Farren, Ferren and Ferrin families living in the USA today and is my earliest known paternal American ancestor.
