HARLAN Q. BANTA
Mr. Banta came with his parents to Decatur county when a small boy, lived on a farm and was subject to the various vicissitudes of boyhood in the west at that time. He is a classical graduate of Ottawa University, and for a number of years engaged in teaching. He was the first principal of the Decatur County High School but growing tired of teaching he resigned and bought the Oberlin Mills and was making a great success of them until unfortunately they burned last December. His loss was heavy but he at once began the preparation to re-build and at the present time the mill is well underway and it will be larger and better than ever. There is not a doubt but that he will find it a paying investment. Mr. Banta is one of the younger crowd who we are glad to see succeed.
