Mr. Langmade has read the HERALD from the first issue as his father then living in New York was one of its earliest subscribers. A few years later Mr. Langmade came to this county and was one of the incorporators of the HERALD Publishing Co. which is still used by the present owners as the corporate name. He has always been an uncompromising democrat, was elected three terms as county attorney, a distinction enjoyed so far by no other man. Mr. Langmade was the democratic candidate for judge two years ago and although the district was strongly republican he was only defeated by about a hundred votes. Mr. Langmade has an extensive practice that takes him to every county seat in the district; he has also had many important cases in the supreme court; having won the case of the settlers against the foreign land owners in the school land cases which saved many people their homes in western Kansas. He has a brilliant future before him.
