The following list contains the names and postoffice addresses of peopled who belonged to the Talmage telephone exchange in 1963. I've included the introduction so you can see how times have changed in the last 40 years.

OFFICE HOURS: Week Days, 6 a. m. to 10 P. m. Sundays, 6 a.m. to 8 pm.
(EMERGENCY CALLS AT ALL HOURS)
Make calls by number, insuring prompt service. The first two numbers indicate the number of the line, and the next numbers indicate the ring. All rings begin with a long. Example: 4131 indicates line 41, ring three longs and one short.
Do not listen to your neighbor's conversation, as this hinders service.
Parties leaving lines or new parties coming on lines, notify the management at once.
Do not use your phone during electrical storms. Please clean your carbon blocks after every storm. Tolls will be charged to the phone used.

HOW TO PLACE CALLS
Station-to-Station Calls
A station-to-station call is one on which you talk to anyone who answers at the called telephone. The rate on a station-to-station call is lower than the rate for a call to a particular person.
FEATURES OF THE STATION-TO-STATION CALLS They are completed more quickly. The rates are less than a person-to-person call. There is no report charge on a station-to-station call. Station-to-station call rates are reduced after 6 p.m. and apply all day Sunday.
Charges begin when the called telephone is answered. Personal calls over 65 cents carry a reduced rate after 6:00 and on Sundays. Call operator for further information.
PERSON-TO-PERSON CALLS A person-to-person call is one on which you talk only to a particular person.
