Mr & Mrs May of 101 Isebela St. Sioux City, Iowa celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 26 Nov. 1916 at their home. The Aid Society gave them a suprise in the afternoon and presented them with a pass. v1.p13

The members of the Grace Reformed Church gave a farewell party in the church parlor 15 September 1921 for Ralph Austin and family. They presented Ralph and Nell with a leather traveling bag and Betty Austin with a Gold Ring The ladies Aid Society gave Nell an electric lantern to use in thecar as their parting gift. v1.p21

Florance Alspach Smith died at her home 216 West Ninth Street Topeka, Kansas of diabetes 23 October 1920 and was buried on the 25th in Topeka father assisted at the funeral. v1.p24

Jessie Alspach died at her home 916 West Ninth Street Topeka, Kansas, 3 June 1922 of cancer aged 69 years and was buried there 5 June 1922. v1.p24

Nellie Alsbach died at her home in Topeka, Kansas several years before October 1920. v1.p24

J. S. Scheivley died at his home in Abilene, Kansas after a few weeks illness on 1 March 1922 and was buried on 3 March 1922 UNCLE was 78 years old at his death. ( Died & buried Abilene, Ks.?)v1.p25

Will Baker is married and lives at Anaheim, Calif. he died in 1926. v1.p31

1 May 1923 George Metzgar was given a life pension from the Santa Fe railroad co. and a lifetime pass for himself and his wife. v1.p31

Rev. Ralph J. Harrity began his first work as a minister as Pastor of the Grace Reformed Church of Sioux City, Iowa in June 1918. he entered the service of his country 25 Aug 1918 and returned from the service 25 Feb. 1919 and was elected Chaplain of Mannahan post of Sioux City. Rev. Harrity and Miss Lillian Pettit were married in Sioux City 14 June 1922 by the Rev. Lynn of Lawton, Iowa and spent their honeymoon at Spirit Lake. they were at home after 15 July at 1502 West Sixth St., Sioux City, Iowa. v1.p34

The members of Grace Church gave a reception in the church to Rev. Herrity and his bride 29 June 1922. There were over a hundred present at the reception. The committe served ice cream, cake, and lemonade. they also had a short program. The men present Rev. Harrity and wife with a purse of one hundred dollars. Mr. Erickson made the address, and Rev. Graber made an address on married life, Rev. and Mrs. Harriet also made addresses. v1.p35

Rev. Harrity celebrated his 33rd birthday 27 Dec. 1922. v1.p35

Mrs. A.G. Greenameyer died at her home in Waco, Texas 27 Oct. 1922 and was buried in Sioux City her former home Sunday afternoon 29 Oct. The funeral services were held in the ( ?) chapel at Graceland Park Cemetery. (she spells cemetery; semetery) v1.p34a

William Metz (Metzger?) died at his home in Akron, Iowa 3 Nov. 1922 of shaking palisly and was buried 4 Nov. 1922 in the Floyd Cemetery in Sioux City. Rev. R.J. Harrity conducting the funeral service. v1.p34a

Mrs. William Allen Metz (Metzger?) received $1200 insurance from the Ben Hur Lodge in November 1922. v1.p34a

Nelson H. May died at his home 109 Isable St. in Sioux City 4 Feb. 1923 aged 72 years old and was laidto rest 7 Feb. in the Floyd cemetery. Rev Harrity holding the funeral service. v1.p35a

E.W. Wigton of Lyons, Neb. died at the Mayo Hospital at Rodchester, Minn 3 May 1923 of cancer and was buried at lyons, Neb. 6 May 1923. v1.p35a

President Harding died in San Francisco, Calif 2 August 1923 and was buried in Marion, Ohio. 10 August 1923. v1.p35b

Dr. J.C. Krege died at his home 1106 Summit St 12 Nov. 1920. v1.p35a

The Ladies Aid of the Grace Reformed Church surprized Mrs. Rev. Harrity in her home in Jan. 1923 and presented her with a nice rocking chair as a wedding present. v1.p36

Rev. Ralph J. Harrity tendered his resignation as pasto of the Grace reformed church of Sioux City to the congregration 8 July 1923 to take effect the last of August 1923 after a pastorate of six years, and axcepted a call to Lancaster, Ohio. v1.p36

The members of the Grace Reformed Church held a farewell reception for Rev. Harrity and wife in the church23 August 1923. They had a program; Joe Garetson made an address for the members. Rev Harrity made an address also, after which the ladies served refreshments. The congregration presented Ralph Harrity Jr. with a bank containing $14.00. v1.36-37

Rev. Herrity preached his farewell Sermon 25 August and left Sioux City 28 August for Lancaster, Ohio his new home. His address in Lancaster will be 150 King Street. v1.p37

Mr. and Mrs. Cline F. Ramey and little daughter Rachel of 2023 South Maple st. left Sioux City a March 1923 for their new home in Kansas City, Mo. v1.p38

Ethel Shrape of Sioux City and John Gerhart of Hawarden, Iowa were married in Omaha 8 Sept 1913. v1.p38

Worthey Martin and Roy Crowder were married 14 March 1923 at St. Thomas church in Rook hall. Mildred Harper and her friend attend the couple. Mrs. Harper gave them a wedding dinner. Mrs. Frank Murphy and Mrs. Ernest Lynn were the other guests. v1.p39

Clyde E. Scott and Irene Lewton were married in Sioux City 14 July 1923. The bride is an employee of Graber's. v1.p39

John Hansen and Mildred Harper were married in St. Pauls Episcapal church by Rev. Gomer? at high noon 31 Oct 1923 and left in the evening for a short wedding trip. v1.p39

Frank Bayer and Elenor Briggs both of Omaha, Neb. were married in Sioux City, by Rev. T.F. Stauffer 21 august 1907. v1.p41

Arther Briggs aged 60 years died in Omaha, Neb. in June 1923 at the home of his sister Mrs. Nora Boyer, and was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery the side of his mother. v1.p42

Jackson Baker was born near Greensburg, Westmoreland Co. Pa. 27 June 1826 and died at Horton, Kansas 3 November 1906 aged 80 years 4 months 7 days and was buried there. v1.p43

Peter Heffley died 14 July 1890 at Nebraska City, Neb and was buried in the Yuka cemetery at Lincoln, Nebraska. v1.p43-44

Mrs. Dan Keihel died in may 1916 at Ojay, California and was buried there. Uncel Dan is living in the Seventh Day Adventist Sanitarium at the same place since. v1.p44

Clarence Heffley died in San Antonio, Texas 27 jan 1906 aged 34 years 4 months and 4 days and was buried in Lincoln, Neb. by the side of his father. v1.p44

Mary Jane Baker Myers was born 7 Dec 1856 and died 4 March 1905 aged 48 years 2 months and 28 days. v1.p44

G. A. Jackson Baker was born 27 Mar? 1826 and died 3 Nov 1906, aged 80 years 7 months and 6 days. v1.p45

Sarah Ann Scheivley Baker was born 7 June 1834 and died 5 Sept 1914 at Horton, Kansas. v1.p45

Gertrude Beaumont Jones died 9 May 1918 at her home in Irwin, Pa. of heart trouble and was buried there by the side of her husband. v1.p60

Albert Otto Grendler an agent for the Chicago and Milwaklee railroad at the Morningside depot came to rom at the ernest Lynn's in Sept. 1922 at 2030 South Maple in Sioux City and stayed until Jan. 1927. v1.p67

Eleanor Briggs and Frank Boyer of Omaha, Neb. were married in Sioux City, Iowa 21 Aug 1907 at the home of her cousin the Rev. T.F. Stauffer at 200 11th Street Sioux City Iowa. v1.p74

Mrs. Flora Briggs died at her home in Omaha Neb. 13 Dec 1912 and was buried in Woodlawn cemetery. v1.p74

Arther Briggs aged 60 years died in Omaha, Neb, in June 1923 at the home of his sister Mrs Nora Briggs Boyer and was laid to rest in Woodlawn cemetery by the side of his mother. v1.p75

Cousin Flora Briggs youngest son Boyde??? was killed in Omaha at the age of sixteen years by a fall from a window in the opera house in Omaha years ago. v1.p75

Nora Briggs Boyer's son Ohern???Boyer 16 years old 7 Nov. 1926 graduated from the Omaha Neb. High School in June 1927. v1.p75

Mother's brother in law J.V. Stoner died at his home in Berlin, Somerset Co. Penn. 31 Oct 1925 and was buried there 2 Nov. 1925. v1.p78

Mother's neice Mrs. Ella Heffly Hanlin died at her home in Omaha, Neb. in April 1926 after being paralized for a number of years. Mrs. Ella Hamlin's daughters are Bessie Hamlin Myers of Omaha, Neb. and Ella Hamlin Steel of Omaha. v1.p78

David Abernathy traveling glue man for Cudahy Co. and a friend of the Lynn's died in a hospital at Omaha, Neb. 23 May 1932 after a few weeks illness and was buried in Chicago, Ill. v1.p145

Mildred Clark of Fremont, Neb. a schoolmate at Wayne School, Neb. spent the weekend with Frances 9-11 Dec 1932. v1.p152

The Wigtons, Morgans, Andrews, Mrs. Leslie Haley and Bobbie (Hemphill?) suprized me 19 July 1933 for the afternoon and had lunch ice cream and coke. Drove to Merrell, Iowa and had dinner there with Pearl and Frances. v1.p154 v1p155

Elect Howell, aunt Mary S.'s mother hurt in and auto accident and a stroke passed away 31 Aug 1941 burial in family plot in Irwin, Penn. v1.186

A son, William Lawrance Young, arrived in the home of Margaret Stauffer Young 4 Jan. 1940, a grandson to Russell and Mary Stauffer of Cleveland, Ohio. v1.p184

Cousin Alzina Stauffer, daughter of Josiah Stauffer died recently of diphtheria aged 25 years of age in May 1923 at the home of her mother in Latrobe, Pen. She leaves a mother, and a brother, Paul. Alzina taught school in the same township for seven years. v1.p42

Uncle Brinker Stauffer died in Jan. 1925 in the Greensburg Pa. hospital of kidney trouble after a short illness. His daughter a trained nurse was with him and took care of him in his last illness. There is only one brother of father's family and that is Herman at McKeesport, Pa. v1.p61

Mary Howell Stauffer became ill in Oct 1931 and recovered in 1932. v1.p142

Mary Howell Stauffer’s sister Margaret Howell purchased the Howell home farm near Irwin, Penn. at the sale in Jan 1935, for a permanent home for herself. Margaret Howell teaches school in the winter and runs the farm in the summer time. v1.p143

Mary E. Howel Stauffer aged 66 2 Jan 1940 passed away suddenly Wednesday morning 6 March 1940 in her home 2109 N. 89th St. Cleveland, Ohio, after a long illness. The funeral was Friday afternoon 8 March 1940. She was buried in Cleveland, Ohio. Mary left her husband (Russell Stauffer) and two daughters and three grandchildren, three sisters and a brother residing near Irwin, Pa. and two sisters in Compton, Calif. and Long Beach, Calif. and left her estate to her daughters. v1.p184

Father bought the silver water pitcher that I have in Abilene, Kansas at auction for $8.77, and the silver coffee pitcher that Russell got was given father by Mr. Seedley a gentleman in Pittsbuarg when we lived there. v1.p78

Minnie E. Scheivley, granddaughter, daughter of J.S.S. of Abilene, Kansas Married Dr. Enocks of Topeka, Kansas in July 1896 in Abilene, Kansas. v2.p96

Hannah Metzgar was 83 years of age 11 July 1940 and her husband George will be 81 10 Dec 1940, both of Topeka, Kansas. v2.p88

The Myers and the Metzgars moved from Greensburg, Penn. to Horton, Jackson Co. Kansas in the fall of 1879. v2.p98
