Philip Oliver Lucier and Marie Elmire Villeneuve, taken around the time of their marriage
on 16 February, 1886. Both were born in Kankakee County, IL and moved to
Kansas with their families. Their parents emigrated to Illinois from Quebec. They had 12
children, all of whom lived in Abilene or Concordia. The Luciers lived on a few acres
at the edge of Abilene & had a large apple orchard & cows. Phil and Mary moved to Abilene
because Phil had a three year apprentice-ship in Mr. Davis's Tailor Shop. He worked for
3 years without pay, to learn his trade, and later owned a tailor shop of his own. For further
information re this family, and that of Owen and Ellen (Golden) Hogan, also long time
residents of Abilene, see my reports at Family Tree Maker. Submitted by:Jean Schneider
