Our Beginnings

Founded in 1977, our society is dedicated to promoting awareness of family history and helping people in their genealogical research. The society is a non-profit organization with 501 3c status. We rely on the work of volunteers and individual donations to help pay expenses, and add to the genealogical collections of our area.

This is a growing site as time and volunteers permit. We are a small group, but want to provide as many on-line records as possible, to assist your Lyon County, Kansas research efforts. Check back often as we will be adding more information from time to time.

Search this site, but remember to check all spellings. Note, that some records are typed as they were recorded and not always the way the name should be spelled, so be sure to check out the sites below.
