FAIRVIEW CEMETERY

The Lyon County, Kansas atlas of 1918, Fairview Cemetery is located on land that seems to be a part of George HAUGHTON's property {Section 21, Township 21, Range 12}. It is figured to be a plot of about 3 acres. Other landowners in the same section are W. E. CLAUNCH, Samuel MARTIN, H. H. SCHNOOR and Claus CEKLERS.

The cemetery is situated on a hill and well named as Fairview. The native blue stem grass grows, wild flowers bloom, and it is a peaceful prairie cemetery. It is kept up and is still in use.

The oldest inscription is that of Clarence CHILDERS, son of C. M. and L. E. CHILDERS, who died August 20, 1878.
