FAIRVIEW CEMETERY

The Lyon County, Kansas atlas of 1918, Fairview Cemetery is located on land that seems to be a part of George HAUGHTON 's property {Section 21, Township 21, Range 12}. It is figured to be a plot of about 3 acres. Other landowners in the same section are W. E. CLAUNCH , Samuel MARTIN , H. H. SCHNOOR and Claus CEKLERS .

The cemetery is situated on a hill and well named as Fairview. It is 4 miles south of Olpe, Kansas on Highway 99, and 3 miles east on Road 30. The native blue stem grass grows, wild flowers bloom, and it is a peaceful prairie cemetery. It is kept up and is still in use.

The oldest inscription is that of Clarence CHILDERS , son of C. M. and L. E. CHILDERS , who died August 20, 1878.
