It was the goal of the Emporia Chapter of the DAR to gather as much information in the EARLY settlers of Lyon County. This collection is housed at

Lyon County Historical Society

225 E. Sixth Street

Emporia, KS 66801

They can be found filed under the following file at the Lyon County Historical Society:

929.2 DAU - The number following the name is order they are filed in.
If there isn't a number following the name you may need to cross reference under the spouse's name.

The Kansas State Historical Society and the Emporia Public Library also has the microfilm roll of these records which were filmed at the Lyon County Historical Society some years ago. The record for each settler can contain forms showing the dates and places of birth, marriage, and death for the early settler, their wife, parents, siblings, and children, as well as date of settlement, a short biography, etc. It is roll number MS 1060, and they will loan it on interlibrary loan from the Kansas Historical Society, which is usually a FREE service. {CLICK HERE for Interlibrary Loan Information}.
