Welcome to the Home Page of the Montgomery County Genealogical Society of Montgomery County, Kansas. Our organization was founded in 1967, and we have been thriving and helping each other and other individuals interested in Montgomery County Genealogy and History ever since. Our hard-working officers are: Carol Duvall, Pres.; Ivan Pfalser, V. Pres.; Joanne Wittner, Secretary; Dixie Barnard, Treasurer; and Evelyn Henisey, Records Chairman. Ivan also serves as editor of our semi-annual publication, "The Descender."

Submitting Queries to our Periodical
Our group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Coffeyville Public Library, which is located at 10th and Willow streets in Coffeyville, Ks. Guests are very welcome at any of the meetings. Be sure and bring a list of Surnames you're researching. If you are going to be in the area some time when one of our meetings is scheduled, please come by and say "Hi."
If you would like to become a member of the Montgomery County Genealogical Society, single memberships are $8.00 per year and family memberships are $10.00 per year. Out of town memberships are $8.00 per year. Memberships run from January through December. We have included on the book order form a section for you to sign up for membership in Montgomery County Genealogical Society. If you use the order form for your membership application, please also include a list of Surnames you are researching in our area.
Membership in the Society entitles the member to receive a copy of the semi-annual magazine "The Descender", published May and November each year. Membership also entitles you to submit queries in "The Descender" without additional cost. Non-members may also submit queries, for information about submitting a query as a non-member see "Submitting Queries" below.
Suggestions for material to be included in "The Descender" are much appreciated and should be addressed to Ivan Pfalser at the P.O. Box listed below for the Society.
