Nemaha County is located in the northeastern section of Kansas, right on the Missouri border. It's boundaries include Pawnee and Richardson counties in Nebraska (northwest and northeast); Brown County to the east; Jackson County to the southeast; Pottawatomie County on the southwest; and Marshall County to the west. Nemaha County was formed on August 25, 1855 as an original county; its county seat is Seneca.
