Clay County Cemeteries
from the previous cordinator "There are probably over 100 cemeteries in Clay County, Kentucky. I don't know if anyone has them all recorded in one place. Even the Clay County Historical Society has several books to keep these in order. A lot of these cemeteries are on private proper or family plots so the only way we can find out who is there and the other information, is for a family member to record them. This is what many people do, and the Historical Society has copies of most of these."
I have listed as many as I know, with links to the host site. Anyone who knows of a Cem. which is not listed, PLEASE write me (Betty) and give me all the information you can. I will post the list of names on my site or put a link to your site.
I have added the GNIS cemetery maps, and rearranged this page with links to all the cemeteries I can locate. A good many are off site at Clay County Archives, the URL directly below. There are many more cemeteries than maps. Betty
The first list is on a site hosted by Tim Spence. You can reach it by clicking on:

Links below to some GNIS maps of Cem. area only at this time. Cemeteries with listings noted. Any one wishing to provide tombstone inscriptions, please contact : Betty please put Clay county in the subject line. I maintain more than one county site. PLEASE USE "BACK" to return to this page from any Cem. map, if link does not open in new window.

Brown/Wilson Cem.
directions
sent Elsie Wilson Phillips
The entrance to the Cem. is located between one-quarter to
one-half mile past Goose Creek on Field Road. There is a
cattle gate where the Cem. road goes to the right up the
hill. Make a right turn at the cattle gate and proceed up
the hill. Where the road forks, keep to the left and
continue up the hill to another cattle gate. This will
bring you out on a plateau with the Cem. slightly to your left in
the open field overlooking Red Bird River.
