State of Kentucky Whitley County set on the 4 day of April 1827 personally appeared in open court it being a court of record made so by act of amenity of Ky prospected of unlimited jurordictions and pursueing according to the courier of the common law, it being this the 15 judicial district Henry Porch, resident citizen of this county api. (before the honorable Joseph Evi pending noble judge for district) in open court age sixty seven years in July last, who being first sworn according to law, duth on his oath make the following dictations in order to abtain the movipious made by acts of cougup of the 18 of March 1818 and 1st May 1820 that he then said Porch enlisted for the term of the year in the month of August before the battle of at Ljclforce court house in North Carolina

by the troops ??? ??? by Genl. Nathaniel Green ageist the common enemy, that he enlisted in Franklin county at Lewisburg in the company commando by capt. John Sharp who enlisted him and in second regiment (as he now believes) of the North line (the main of the Col he has forgotten) on this continental establishment that he continues to serve in said corps until near the close of his enlistment when he was attached under Capt. John Bush to guard the country how the excusaous? of the British near the ????? and under whom he serves out his term of enlistment when he was discharged by Capt. Bush at a place called the white house ten miles from Charleston in said S. Carolina the discharge he has since lost that he kindley relingalis his very claim whatever to a pension except his regent that his name is not on the roll of any state except the roll of the contineaial army.  This following as his reasons not making application sooner

for a pension that until lately he has always been able to maintain himself by laborer but about 12 months sine a felloria rose in his right hand which so disabled it that it is almost uselif to him and has so disabled him that he is almost unable support himself by laborer and in pu?????? of the act of 1st may 1820.  I do solemnly swear that I was a resident citizen of the state on the 18 of March 1818 and that I have not since that time by gift sale or in any manner disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent ????? So to diminish it or to buy myself within the provisions of ?? act if ????? or act to provide for certain previsions enjoyed in the land and naval ????? of the u. states in the Revolutionary war ???? the 18 March 1818 and that I have not nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities, abstracts or debts directed nor have I any income other than

What in court in these schedules ? Arrives? by his subscribe trust fifty acres of poor land worth $50 no more, one horse worth $50 no more, cow & calf worth $10 no more, hogg worth about $10 no more, accounting in all to $120. On this 18 of March 1818 he owned this land and ? Horse hence of ??? Cow and calf about the half value of half all accounting to about the sum of $120. He does not recollect that he owed anything or that he had anything owing to him and that no changes have said that him taking place in his cows or hoggs except for family use he at present owes nothing and nothing is owed to him.   Henry Porch

That he is by ??? a farmer a farmer but owing to the debititior can ??? of - his hand he is not able to do but little work- his family count of himself and wife alone. She is about fifty five years of age very unable to support herself.

Arab? Parks a reputable witness being first sworn in open court states on his oath, that he from his personable knowledge knows the statement apl. Of him Henry Porch is relation to him & his wife.  Condition and the rest of his property is true and the valuations correct.  The foregoing was sworn to and and??????? On this 5th day of April 1827 in open court before the Hon able Joseph Eve circuit judge of said court under AndruoConig Elk of the said Whitley circuit court do here by certify that it appears to the satisfaction of the court that this Henry Porch did serve in the revolutionary war as stated in the preceding declaration against his common enemy for the time of over year under one engagement on the continual ??????????? I do also certify the foregoing oath.

Whitley County

            On the 27th day of October 1830 personally appeared before the Whitley county court Henry Porch a resident of Whitley county Kentucky aged seventy five years who being first duly sworn according to law doth under oath makes the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of con????  ????? June 7th 1832 that he entered the service of the United States between the year 1776 and 1779 in Franklin County North Carolina under Capt William Allan of the N. Carolina ?????? and L????  ????????  was marched from the Crop roads in Saroe County to Lanberry from hence to Crop Creek now Fayetteville above Caw doe from Tar berry to Camp ???? was commanded by Jim ???? (or Monk) from time through S. Carolina to Brier creek in the state of Georgia where he was in a battle with the enemy and defeated many being ??????? on the ????? in attempting to capther ????? ???????? ??? ??????? in the ?????? until discharged the whole ???????? of actual service being ??? ?????? and none before got home.  He shortly after ????????? in Halifax County N.Carolina under the command of Maj. Hogg marched from hence to Crap Creek (now Fayetteville) hence to head ???????? at the high hills of Santee and ?????? ??? Green army hence to St Johns ??land under the command of Capt. Sharp, hence back to head quarters at the high hills of Souter completing a tour of twelve months and of much hardship he ordered discharge for the last tour of twelve months

As well as the first of ???? making in all eighteen months in which he served ????????  his discharge has been lost or destroyed being considered of no return he has no documentary ??????? by which he can prove the above service nor no witness living that he knows but is confident that he served full eighteen months or more as above stated.  He ?????? relinquishes every claim whatever to a ???????? as an ?????? except the present and declares that his name is that an the ?????? ???? of the agency of any state.

Carolina the year not recollected but I entered the service in my 78 or 69 year ?? 2nd have you any record of your age.  Ans. No ? 3rd. Where were you living when called into service.  Ans. In Franklin County N. Carolina. Q. 4th Where have you lived since the revolutionary war & where do you now live.  Ans. In Franklin county N. Carolina except the last 20 ???? years which is in Whitley county Ky where I now live.  Q. 5th How were you called into service.  Ans. Drafted 2nd a ?????????? 26th state the name of  ???? of the regular officers with the troops where you served g??? ???? ????? capt Sharp, capt Allan Major Hogg.

State the circumstances of your service.  Ans. I cannot more than I have in my dec??ation ???????? going into particulars which would fill many pages if I could ??????? them.  Sworn to and subscribed the day & year????????.
