Pension No. S 36177
In Jefferson Circuit Court in Ky 18 Jul 1821. Joseph Moore, resident of
Jefferson Co., Ky about 12 miles from Louisville, age 70, made oath that he
was born in Somerset Co. NJ and that he enlisted in Capt. Joseph Mocker's
company of infantry in the first NJ regiment, commanded by Col. Windes for one
year, and that the regiment marched to the 3 rivers in Lower Canada and that
he continued in service for 3 years and 6 months and that he was in service
during military operations carried on in New Jersey and New York lines after
he returned from Canada. He was at the battle of Monmouth. He first entered
service as a private soldier sometime in 1776.
He also made schedule of his property and stated that he has a wife living and
they have a married daughter and that he was formerly a wagon maker.
On 19 Oct 1818 Joseph Moore made aplication (sic) for pension in Whitley Co.
Ky and made statement as above in regard to his services.
Joseph Moore, who was a private in the New Jersey regiment during the
Revolutionary War was incribed (sic) on the pension roll of the Ky agency to
commence 19 Oct 1818. Certificate of the pension was issued 28 Jan 1819.
