Corporal Dingus was a member of the 65th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on July 13, 1953. Corporal Dingus was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

This is not an obituary, however it is the first page of the Potter Funeral Home Memorial Book. (Potter Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY). An obituary could not be found. I am Waldo M. Dingus's niece.  My mother is Zelma Dingus Purcell.
