I am a second cousin to Henry Clay McKinney. He was born 26 of January 1928 in Cogswell, Rowan County, Kentucky to Sylvan Ingrim McKinney and Mattye Myrtle Crosthwaite.  He was 23 when he died.  He is buried in the Brown Cemetery in Rowan Co., Kentucky.

Died November 7, 1951 in Korea

Sergeant Mc Kinney was a member of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Kwandae, North Korea on November 7, 1951. Sergeant Mc Kinney was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Korean War Service Medal.
