Sprake, Notary Republic in for the County aforesaid
declare that personally appeared before me, Mr. Arch Bailey of
the county and state above written and made the following
affidavit
I, Arch Bailey, resident of
Harrison County, Kentucky was born on the 12 day of January
1872, son of Henry Bailey and his wife Nancy Talbert who was
born 1838. She was the granddaughter of Henry Talbert,
Revolutionary War Soldier and often showed me the tree in Indian
Creek Baptist Churchyard under which Henry Talbert lies buried.
Her father Daniel Talbert was born September 29, 1782 and died
September 17, 1861, her uncle George Talbert born September 13,
1785 and died January 3, 1852 and his wife Unity Smith Talbert
1788-1864, her uncle Henry Talbert born February 27, 1789 and
died 1849, her aunt Nancy Talbert b 1793 and died 1835, wife of
Daniel McShane 1781-1856 are
likewise buried in this churchyard, which is not far from the
county line between Harrison and Bourbon County and was near
their country home. I further state that my mother and I
resided on land that had descended to her from the first said
Henry Talbert that I lived there until 1936 when the old house
was destroyed by fire, since which time I lived a short distance
away from family land. I might add that the
above named children where some of the nine children of
Henry Talbert’s second marriage to Barbara Whaley.
