Mrs. Laura Hoskins, 78, a long-time Calvin, Ky resident passed away at
the Pineville Community Hospital, Sunday morning, December 7, 1980,
after a long illness.
Her husband James Hoskins preceded her in death.
She is survived by four daughters, Irene Wilson, Tawas, Mich., Evelyn
Robbins, Louisville, Ky, Betty Jeffery, Norwood, Ohio; and Beulah
Lewis, Stanford, Ky; six sons, Bill Hoskins, J.m. Hoskins and G. W.
Hoskins, all of Calvin, Ky., Luther Hoskins of Loveland, Ohio, Paul
Hoskins, Tawas City, Mich., and Millard Hoskins, Ft. Wayne, Ind., Two
other sons Elmer and Jack Hoskins preceded her in death. She is also
survived by four sisters, Maggie Cornett, London, Ky, Zora Van
Flanders, Covington, Ky; Mossie McGeorge, Calvin, Ky., and Leona
Crook, Seven Springs, Fla., one brother, Hillary Taylor of Cubbag; 35
grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives
mourn her passing.
She was a member of the Cannon Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where
funeral services were held Dec. 9, 1980, at 2 p.m. Elders Kenneth
Robbins and Phillip Hoskins officiated at the ceremony and burial
followed in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Middlesboro.
Mrs. Hoskins' grandsons served as pallbearers.
