Claiborne Thompson, 25, of Oaks, Ky, was electrocuted yesterday
afternoon in a mine operated by the Southern Mining Company at Insull,
Ky. Thompson met his death when he came into contact with live wires,
and was instantly electrocuted.
A Pulmotor squad worked over the young miner for four hours,
attempting artificial respiration, Pope Cawood reported, but attempts
to revive him failed. Thompson, a native of Bell County, was a
veteran of World War II. He is survived by his father and mother, Mr.
and Mrs. Jeff Thompson of Oaks, Ky., two brothers, Willie Thompson,
Oaks, Ky., Clayton Thompson, Miracle, Ky., and fours sisters, Mrs.
Bessie Boatright, Cubbage, Ky., Mrs. Sarah Wilson, Insull; Mrs. Sophia
Miracle; Insull, and Mrs. Josie Thompson of Oaks.
