Letters and travel diaries of Gen Leonard Stephens (1791-1873), who took a leading role in the affairs of northern Kentucky. He served in the state legislature, and he became the first Sheriff of Kenton County at its creation in 1840. The letters are filled with neighborhood news and gossip of Kenton and Boone counties up through the Civil War.
