Caldwell Co. Deedbook B, p.313(339/40), 9 October 1816. Susanah Winn, wife of John Winn, relinquishes her dower rights to land in Fauquier Co., VA that her husband John Winn sold to William Tippit of Fauquier. The land was same bought by John Winn fro m Thomas Winn who had bought it from Elizabeth Cox and heirs. Recorded 17 Oct. 1816.

Caldwell County Deed Book D, pp. 389-90. 4 May 1825. Harvey W. Bigham, commissioner, to Jeremiah Rucker, both of Caldwell Co., ..at the March Term of Caldwell Circuit Court 1825.. .. a decree was rendered in a suit in Chancery between Jeremiah Rucker, complainant, and David Osborn and Sally his wife, late Sally Barnett, Sam'l Barnett, John Barnett, James Barnett, and the other unknown heirs of James Barnett, dec'd, John Davis and Harriet his wife, late Harriet Cook, Ethelbert Cook, Lilburn L. Cook, and Jesse Cook and the other unknown heirs of John Cook, dec'd, and John Belcher, Defendants. (The decree ordered that title of a 250 acre tract of land described in a survey dated Sept. 1803 and patented to James Barnett 3 Jan 1824 be conveyed to Jeremiah R ucker. Entered 17 Jan 1842 The clerk stated that Leaven Oliver and Ransford Smith appeared and verified that they had witnessed the deed. Old Broady Howard must have slept on this deed for 18 years before he recorded it.

Caldwell Co. Deedbook N, p. 413-4, Know all men by these presants, that I, Levi Oliver, a citizen of Caldwell County and State of Kentucky, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt of which hereby ackno wledged, and the other considerations herein after named, have this day bargained, sold, and conveyed, and by these presants, I do hereby bargain, sell, alien and convey unto Milton H. Carsons all my right, title, claim, and interest in and to the followi ng personal property herein described, to wit: one bay mair 3 years old, one gray horse about 10 years old, thirty head of hogs, one wagon and one yoke of oxen, one red and white pitted? and one pale red with white face and white along his back, one milk cow red and white speckled, one beauro mahogna front, also sixty acres of corn now growing, with the exception of the part that is goint for rent, also 3 plows and 2 pair of gear, also one feather bed and trimmings, and one bed stead, to have and to hold the above described property unto the said Milton H. Carson, his heirs and assigns forever, and I do further covenant and bind myself, my heirs, and assigns to warrant and forever defend the title of said property to the said Milton H. Carson, his heirs, and assigns forever against the claims of any and all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this the 20th day of June 1848. Now the conditions of the above bill of sale or mortgage is, that whereas I sta nd justly indebted to the said Milton H. Carson in the following notes: one note for forty dollars date the 28th day of April 1848 and due the 25th day of December next, one for twenty dollars dated the 24th day of December and due the 1st of December nex t, also said Carson stood my security on a ?repleving? bond in favor of R. L. Cobb and against me for the sum of one hundred and eighteen dollars and 21 cents. now should I well and truly pay off said notes and repleving bond, then the above bill of sale or mortgage is to be null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
