John Byrd Grave Site
aka Littleford Farm Site
Schmudde & Phillips Creek Roa between Claryville and Grant's Lick
Located on the Littleford Farm known as "Shagbark Farm" which is on the Schmudde & Phillips Creek Road. Graves are located approximately 200 yards southwest of the farm's second house. Eight stones or pieces of stones were found. An old log house stood across the road, east of the cemetery. It burned in the early 1960s.
I originally cataloged this cemetery about 25 years ago. On Aug 1, 2006 I tried to locate the cemetery to get a GPS reading. The land owner accompanied me to the area but we could not find any of the graves. The land owner agreed to let me come back in late winter to search for the exact location. Herman R "Buck" Seibert
