Indenture made 1 September 1853 between John Wheeler of the County of Pendleton Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Richard M J Wheeler and Martha Ann Massey of the County of Campbell of the other part. 

John for and in consideration of the sum of $1, in hand paid and for the love and affection I have for my said children above named I have granted unto my said two children R M Wheeler and Martha Ann Massey all that tract of land saving and excepting that which is hereafter excepted lying in the county of Campbell beginning in the Flag Springs road one pole south of 5 1/2 east of Smith, etc. containing 2 1/4 acres and 18 poles together with the steam mill an all its fixtures (saving and excepting the carding machinery picker and their fixtures and the room the said machinery runs in and also the steam power to run said machinery in carding seasons) except the privileges reserved by Elias Knauer in his deed to me.
