Jacob Foster Sr.

Submitted by Eleanor Edmondson

Probably Jacob Foster Sr. came into Campbell County about 1794/1795.  He went to court and applied for a license to build a mill on 7 Sept 1795.  He received approval 6 June 1796.

Jacob also appeared on several of the tax lists beginning in 1795.  He appears to have been the father of children who married into the Rogers, Williams, and Thompson families.  William Williams and Benjamin Thompson married his daughters.  It appears that Benjamin stayed in Campbell County for two years before he went down the river to join the other in Cape Girardeau.

Some of these four families remained in Cape Girardeau while the younger generations moved to AR. I have found Rhoda Rogers Foster and Jacob Foster Jr. in AR as well as several Adenstone Rogers.  I am basically a Rogers researcher and would welcome any descendants.  At present I am profiling the Rogers family from Campbell County Kentucky into several counties of AR.
