James Valentine Smith, 80, of Alexandria, died Friday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. He was a retired employee of Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Smith, and a brother, Gordon Smith of Rockford, Ill.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is handling arrangements.
