Finley McGinnis received the relevant parcel from Dan Hall and W. F. Cartee. That’s not true. 
Finley McGinnis is not mentioned anywhere on this deed! Note also that this deed contains a reservation for

contemporary 75.5 acre parcel deed (the shared boundary). This deed refers to Deed Book 37, Page 408.

Shirley is the widow of Paul C. Griffith. At the time of purchased, Micky Griffith retained 
two tracts totaling less than three acres. The two tracts were surveyed and their descriptions recorded with the above referenced deed. The farm was 
apparently first surveyed when it was subdivided from a larger tract of land on February 28, 1919 (Deed Book 37, Page 408). No later general survey of the
farm exists. The main portion of the farm (originally 75.5 acres) was surveyed when it was subdivided from a larger tract 
of land on April 22, 1909 (Deed Book 15, Page 145). No later general survey of the farm has been done. 
The 35 acre parcel lies along the northeasterly boundary of the 75.5 acre parcel. 
This deed refers to Deed Book 117, Page 556. PVA map 37 identifies the farm as properties 7 and 7.01.

The property to the south of the farm (PVA Map 37, Parcel 9) is presently occupied by the Staggs family. The PVA describes this property as containing 194 acres (my calculation is 50+58.2+36+45=189.2) Deed Book 204, Page 153 reflects a conveyance of 35 acres from Grace Elizabeth Hall (widow) to Chaney Waugh in October of 1988. The deed indicates that a survey by Willis J. Everman was completed. This deed states that the property was purchased/inherited from Harold Bruce Hall and Grace Elizabeth Hall, Ona Adkins at als as recorded in Deed Book 204, Page 130. Deed Book 204, Page 130 also references a survey performed by Willis J. Everman. It further specifies that a portion of the estate, one acre, is conveyed to Ronald Staggs and Mary Magdeline Staggs. This deed states that the referenced tracts were obtained from Sarah Hill et al by ____ (Deed Book 190, Page 980) on October 9, 1984.
