This deed this day made by and between John N. Ross and Nancy J. Ross, 
his wife, party of the first part, and Rubin F. Ross of the second part, 
all of the County of Carter, Kentucky, witnesseth  that in consideration 
of the sum of three hundred dollars paid the receipt of which is hereby 
acknowledged the party of the first part ???? this day sold, ???? that 
certain tract or parcel of land situated in the County of Carter, State 
of Kentucky and ???? as follows: Beginning at a stone on the County Road, 
thence on the division line of Rubin F. Ross and thence, ?????? ("N61") E 134 
poles to a maple and two gums small black locust bushes ???? ("N32") W 63 poles 
to two poplar and a gum and a maple S 62 3/4 W 146 poles to a hickory 
and maple bushes thence S 43 E 76 1/2 poles to the beginnng, containing 
by survey sixty acres with all appurtenances ????? ??? belonging unto ??? 
the party of the first part and ???? ???? ???? ????? party of the second 
part and ??? ??? ??? the party of the first part ???? ???? defend the 
title of said to claims the party of the second ??? ???? ????

of the county and state aforesaid certify in the foregoing deed ????? from 
John N. Ross and Nancy J. Ross, his wife, to Rubin F. Ross ???? ???? to me 
in my office on the 29 day of March 1872 and ???? and ??? duly acknowledged 
by the said John N. Ross and Nancy J. Ross to ??? ???? ?????? together  ??? 
the foregoing certificate that ???? duly admitted to the ????? my office 
??? ???? ????? this the 4 day of June 1872.

Note that there are indications that this property is southeast portion of a 300 acre parcel
purchased by John Nelson Ross from E. A. Brown, recorded in Deed Book E, Page 94.
Curiously, the call "N 61 E 134" appears on sale Deed Book E Page 94" sale to John Piat Ross!
