Together they had the following children:

2) Irene (died as a child),
3) Meda,
4) Joyce, and
5) Janice.

John worked on his father's farm until the late 1910s.  After that he worked at the brickyard in Carter County.  Sometime around 1925, John and Letha moved to Kanawha County, WV where John worked in the coal mines.  He died May 20, 1938 at Kanawha Valley Hospital in Charleston, WV.  He was buried May 23, 1938 in Fultz, Carter County at the King family
cemetary.  A listing of individuals buried at the King family cemetary can be found on the Carter County genealogy page.

Riley Jessie was the son of Cowan Jessie and Molly Phillips.  Molly Phillips was the sister of John Phillips.  Riley was born in 1897 and married Nellie ??? sometime before 1917.  We know of at least 2 children, there may have been more.  Letha Jessie was born in 1917 and Archie was born in 1919.
