John Besore, saddle and harness dealer on North Limestone near Main, purchased this house with a frontage of 60 feet from Gustavus Lilley in 1849. The directory in 1859-60 gave his residence as "south side Third bet. Mulberry and Walnut."

Besore sold the house to Lester Heacox, who owned considerable property. (1867 Dir: L. HEACOX, Dealer in Leather, &c., Mulberry b. Main & Short, res. S.S.E. 3rd b Mulberry & Wal.
