I have some family info that I would like to find out more info. My great great grandfather was Elias Barber, Jr. In the tax lists of 1892 for Franklin County in the Forks of Elkorn district he owned 22 acres. Supposedly Elias Jr did not marry until 1894 when he was 40 years old. One of his children (maybe his only, don't know) was Everett Barber (my great grandfather). They lived in an area named Sulpher Lake Branch, then Harveyland and later bought a farm in Stamping Ground. Elias Jr died in 1933 and buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Stamping Ground. Any help with relatives and additional info would be nice. My grandmother could only get info from my great grandfather and he wasn't sure about everything. Thanks! Christy chris01@pop.uky.edu

I am looking for the ancestors of James A. ACTON. He married Mary A.M. CROCKETT.(1814-?) She was the daughter of William Crockett and Granddaughter of Anthony Crockett. They had two children: William Dandridge Acton (1835-1891) and Mary Jane Acton (1838-?). In some research he was listed from Winchester, KY but no confirmed documentation. He was a farmer on the Little Benson/South Benson water course. He and his wife are no longer listed on Census in 1840. Their son was living with his uncle, Anthony Crockett. William Crockett the father-in-law was administer of the estate of James A. Acton. Probably buried on the Julian Farm as many of the family was at that period of time. I have a lot of material but can go no further back than this with the surname ACTON. Any help would be appreciated. Nora Acton (NBActon@aol.com)

I have more on his other siblings in AR & their offspring. Would appreciate any information. Reece Newton Cleona, PA

Lynne Evans  Mon, 25 Aug 1997 13:53:04 -0400 I'm researching an ancestor...Lewis W. Sanders. I have a death certificate that listed his usual place of residence as Franklin County. He was a farmer. He died on 11-17-1915 in Jefferson County. I'm looking for an obituary really and have no idea what newspapers were available back then or which county his obit might have run in. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might find his obit? I live in NC and can't do the legwork but would be happy to reimburse some local researcher. Thanks

Seek information on John CLARK, a tailor, born about 1810 in Virginia (or possibly West Virginia) who married Mary CRUMBAUGH on February 28, 1833 in Franklin County, KY. Mary was a daughter of Jacob CRUMBAUGH and Louisa SCHNEIDER and was born about 1816 in Kentucky. Mary died about 1856 and John probably moved to Illinois with his daughter Alice and son- in-law John TUTT by 1860. While in Kentucky the family attended The Church of the Acsension in Frankfort.
