Charles E. Adams
Charles Edward Adams, the son of Robert E. Adams and Bessie Lorene Davis; was born in Fulton Co., Kentucky on the 30th day of March 1919. He married Margaret Virginia Howard at Burnett Chapel Methodist Church in Graves Co., Kentucky. They had the following children: Emily, Ruth and Margaret Adams. Charles died on the 26th of March 1990.
He was inducted into the U. S. Army at Louisville, Kentucky on 14 February 1941. Trained in the United States, Iceland and Ireland as a truck driver for the Service Company of the 2nd (Red Diamond) Infantry. He saw service in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes and received the American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Ribbon and the EAME Theater Ribon with 5 bronze stars. Seperation from the service took place on 8 August 1945 at Camp Atterberry, Indiana.
