Lewis Myron Livingston was born on the 9th of December 1909 in Windsorr, Broome Co., New York; the son of Forrest Myron Livingston and Viola Amelia Doolittle. He married Miss Pearle Belle Freed on the 22nd of May 1937 in Binghamton, New York. Two sons were born to this union; Donald Lewis Livingston and Richard Thomas Livingston. Mrs. Livingston died on the 9th of July 1983 in Fulton, Kentucky and on the 28th of July 1984 Lewis married Mrs. Jetta Cook Speight, at the First Baptict Church in Fulton, Kentucky. He died the 29th of December 1998 and is buried in Greenlea Cemetery in Fulton, Fulton Co., Kentucky.
He was drafted in the naval service on 31 March 1944 and was sent to the U. S. Naval Training Center at Sampson, New York; where he was trained at the Electricians School. He progressed up through the ranks from Fire 3rd Class to Fireman 1st Class. On 1 May 1945 he was assigned as an Electricians Mate aboard the USS Gillette DE 681, a detroyer escort. His ship saw duty in the Pacific Theater and he was awarded the Victory Medal, American Campaign and Philippine Liberation ribbons. He was honorably discharged from the service on January 2nd, 1946.
