World War II Veteran

Warwick C. Hale, Sr.

   Warwick Cowgill Hale, Sr.; was born the 25th day of November 1913 in Hickman, Fulton Co., Kentucky; the son of Benjamin Guy Hale, Sr. and Anne Mary Cowdill. He married Martha Iona Morrison of Hickman, Ky. on March 2nd, 1937 and they were the parents of Warwick Cowgill Hale, Jr. and Susan Morrison Hale. He died on the 3rd of March 1986.

   A contract builder from Hickman, he was inducted into the U. S. Navy on the 27th of July 1944 at Hollywood, Florida. He attended the Naval Training Center at Hollywood, Florida and Little Creek, Virginia and was then assigned as an Ensign in the Amphibious Atlantic Fleet. After serving in the American Campaign and the African/Eiropean Theaters, he reached the rank of Lieutenant. Awarded the Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, he mustered out of the service on the 17th day of March 1946 at Camp Shelton, Norfolk, Virginia.
