World War II Veteran

Willis Milton Attebery
May 20, 1920 - Dec. 12, 1991

    He was the son of Joseph Milton Edgar Attebery of Fulton Co., Kentucky and Ethel Leviena Willis of Lake Co., Tennessee; born in Tiptonville, Lake Co., Tennessee. He married on the 23rd day of November 1941 in Charleston, Missouri to Agnes Beatrice Reevs. He was married a second time, to Barbara (McCree) Myers on the 10th of February 1952.
   At the time he was draft, 9 September 1944; he lived in Crutchfield, Fulton Co., Kentucky. He was a driver of light trucks and experienced with light machine guns and rifles. He served in Italy from 14 April 1945 to 3 August 1946 and was mustered out at Fort Meade, Maryland on 17 August 1946.
   He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Germany), Good Conduct Medal, Meritorius Unit Award and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon.
