Will of James Cecil - 1833

I James Cecil of Garrard County & State of Kentucky this day make my
last will and testament.
In the name of God amen.
ITEM: the first I give to my eldest daughter Nancy Brown one negro Boy
named Noel with some furniture and other things to tedious to mention
the boy and other things that I give her I value at three hundred
dollars.
ITEM: 2nd. I give to my 2nd daughter Polly Jones one negro girl named
Let with her increase with furniture and other things the girl and all
that I gave her I value at three hundred dollars the above negro girl
let is to belong to Polly Jones and her lawful heirs.
ITEM: 3rd. I give to my first son John Cecil one negro boy named Lewis
with some furniture and other things the boy and all things that I
give to him I value at three hundred dollars.
ITEM: 4th. I give to my 3rd daughter Susanna Davis one negro Boy named
Mat with some furniture and other things the boy and all that I give
to her I value at three hundred dollars.
ITEM: 5th. I give to my 5th daughter Sally Simpson a negro girl named
Barthena and her increase and some furniture and other things the girl
and all that I give her I value at three hundred dollars and if the
said Sally Simpson should ??y and heir the above mentioned girl
Barthenia and her increase is to be equally divided amongst her
Brothers and sisters.
The above mentioned children is to have no more but what they have
received already untill all the rest are made equal to the rest lot in
negros and other things.
ITEM: 6th. I give to my daughter Catherine one negro Boy named Joseph
also one negro girl named Mary the two negros I value at one hundred
each also my daughter Malinda one negro Boy named Lewis which I value
at two hundred dollars.
Also my daughter Mahalah Poore one negro girl named Clary and her
increase with some furniture and other things - the girl and other
things I value at three hundred dollars.
Also my son James one negro Boy named Henry and also all the land I
possess at the ddeath of my wife the negro Boy I value at two hundred
dollars.
ITEM: 7th. I leave my beloved wife Elender all my real and personal
estate except so much as will make my single children equal to the
above named married children, furniture, stock &c. As they leave her
she is to let them have as they marry or leave her all rest of the
real and personal she is to have and posses her life or widowhood.
Lastly I appoint my wife Elendor and my son James Cecil to manage and
execute this my Last will and testament - this I acknowledge to be my
last will and testament - This 6th of February 1833

that the forgoing will of James Cecil was produced at Oct. Court 1833
and ordered to be recorded and the same done accordingly.
